Restoration of my '84 GMC stepside   by: Kevin (Moose) Musewicz

History

I bought this truck in Tacoma WA in fall of 2002. I got it from an airman moving to Alaska. He didn't want to take an old 2wd pickup and try driving on those roads that far north. I paid the reasonable price of $800.

$1600 later and it was road worthy to drive down to Tennessee where it sat for a year while I was deployed to Korea. After Korea I moved down here to Warner Robins GA.

The poor truck was pretty much parked for a few years while I got settled in enough to rebuild the 400 sbc it had in it. $8000 later and I am doing High 12's down the 1/4 mile.

Goal

I have scoured the internet to find info or site that have complete custom restorations of the '73-'87 GM truck with little luck. Sure there are plenty of stock replacement parts out there. But every truck I see looks the same. Little paint here little upholstery there. My goal is to do something different, to bring a little life into the '73-'87 body style. I'm not planing on doing anything drastic to the body itself, but the suspension and interior are getting a broke airman workover. I do have a couple of surprises in store for the body. She may not be the fastest truck down the strip but she will look good and maybe eat a few Ponies along the way.

She is coming together, slowly but surely.                                                      Here is my new daily driver.

Here is my old daily driver. Sold $900 The miracles I had to perform each week to keep her running and driving.
